Lying in the Chandni Chowk area and just close to the Red Fort is the Sis Ganj Gurudwara. It’s one of the nine historical gurudwaras in Delhi that offers a holy, divine, and peaceful atmosphere for all those people who are in search of inner happiness and calmness.

Built in the year 1783 by Baghel Singh, the Sis Ganj Gurudwara is the martyrdom site of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Singh Ji. It is said that when Sikh Guru refused to convert his religion to Islam, Aurangzeb executed him right at this spot. Today, if you go inside the gurudwara, you’ll find a tree under which Teg Bahadur ji was beheaded along with a well where he used to take a bath every day.

People of all ages from different castes and creeds come together under one roof at the Sis Ganj Gurudwara to bow their heads in faith. It’s a short stroll away from the Chandni Chowk Metro Station and also near the famous Jama Masjid.
